Digital Health Innovation: Shaping the future of osteopathic medicine

The AOiA Digital Health Innovation Steering Committee recently convened to chart our strategic direction for FY26–FY27, reinforcing AOiA's position as the osteopathic community's trusted partner in digital health advancement.

Three strategic priorities emerged to guide our work:

Osteopathic AI Definition & Ethics – Developing clear guidance on how AI can augment clinical judgment while preserving whole-patient care principles. We're creating practical frameworks and micro-credentials to help osteopathic physicians confidently integrate AI into practice."

AI Literacy & Education – Exploring comprehensive training initiatives, including the Technology and Innovation Elective Rotation (TIER) elective rotation and osteopathic-specific AI competencies, to ensure our community leads in responsible AI adoption.

Digital Health Partnerships – Establishing AOiA as the bridge between innovative digital health companies and the osteopathic community, streamlining access to vetted solutions and ensuring technologies align with osteopathic principles.

Stay tuned for more updates as we advance these initiatives throughout the year.
